Why would anyone want any working person to have inferior 401k plans that pay out far less on average and are subject to far more speculative risk? Defined Benefit pension plans pay longer and are more secure for retirees. If public sector workers wish, they can take part of their meager salaries and gamble it in a Scott trade acct in addition to Pensions but to go without a pension is not a wise move and should not be wished on any working person. Private sector workers are getting screwed. Anyone giving workers the advice to dump a pension in place of a 401k is giving bad financial advise.
